Where can I find this group?

The group is on Facebook and called Universal Credit Essentials.  It is a closed group so you do need to request to join before you can become a member.
You can access the group by clicking here.

Can my friends see what I post in the group?

No, unless they are already a member within the group.  If that is your concern then locate the members list and if any of your Facebook friends are in the group, they will appear near the top.

Why has my post not appeared?

It could be that your post is still pending in our post approval list.  We do receive 100-200 posts per day and we only approve them when a member of the team can monitor the comments for accuracy and also offer help and advice.  While we do have a large team, if your question is complex you may need to wait for a particular admin to be online and available to help.

Sometimes we do have to decline pending posts as they do not meet the group standards.  General rules are no petitions, no pointless rants and no inaccurate news articles.

My post was approved but the admin helping me failed to come back and respond?

With thousands of posts a month and Facebook glitches, it does occasionally happen and we do apologise.  Just tag the person and they will come back.  For example @Jo Jones and select their profile pic.

Another member is being rude, nasty, vulgar, etc. to someone?

As difficult as it is, please don't respond to them.  Just hit report to group admin (try holding on the comment) and we will get it dealt with as quickly as we can.

Can I private message a member of the admin team about my problem with UC?

If you choose to private message an admin, without them inviting you to, then unfortunately your message request will probably go unanswered.  Our messages are overflowing with helping people so unfortunately we often can't respond to uninvited messages.

We took the decision to try and keep the bulk of discussions within the group.  We are all in the same boat, learning about UC, sorting problems and working out calculations.  Your question could help so many other members.  If you post in the group and it becomes apparent that you may need some personal help then an admin will let you know that they have sent you a  message.

If you are not comfortable with posting within the group, you are still more than welcome to browse and search the group or find your answer on the website.  You could also call your local welfare rights organisation or Universal Credit direct.

I can't seem to locate the group via search or direct link?

Unfortunately that would mean that you have been blocked.  You are still more than welcome to browse the website but unfortunately you can't challenge being blocked from the group.  We don't do it without reason or make the decision likely.
